ALSOCare & Benevolent Society Inc - Workplace Giving
Workplace Giving
Is
a super-efficient way for employees of businesses and corporations
of all sizes to help to provide sustainable services and projects
that benefit gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people
across Victoria and beyond.
Benefits to Employers
• Provides employers with a low cost and administratively
simple way to support employee engagement in the community
and realize their corporate social responsibility.
• Builds employee morale.
• Mobilizes significant funding and volunteer resources
to benefit the GLBT community.
Benefits to Employees
• Reduce your tax - Workplace Giving enables employees
to make regular charitable donations from their pre-tax pay,
resulting in an automatic tax reduction, without the need
to keep and claim receipts.
• 100% goes to help - Workplace Giving does not incur
the same expenses and administrative costs as other types
of fundraising, thus ensuring that your donation will have
the maximum impact.
Benefits to ALSO
For ALSO, workplace giving provides us with much needed funds
to assist our programs and projects, while enabling us to
continue to expand the social, charitable and advocacy services
we offer.
Who benefits
ALSO is one of the very few broadly focused community support
organisations in Australia working to assist and benefit the GLBTIQ community across Victoria. Our services
range from homeless young people through to socially isolated
older people.
How does payroll giving work?
Below, we’ve set out a simple three-step process for
you to follow.
1 Employees ask their employers to enter into a workplace
giving arrangement.
2 Employees nominate ALSOCare & Benevolent Society as
their preferred charity, and that they wish to make a regular
donation (for example, fortnightly or monthly) as well as
the donation amount.
3 The donation is paid directly by the employer to ALSO.
The amount you decide to donate to ALSO is automatically deducted
from your salary before tax – which means it saves you
money!
Does my employer offer this scheme?
Ask your employer's payroll department if they offer Workplace
Giving. If they don't, suggest that they start one - it is
easy and inexpensive to run. Fill out the attached Workplace
Giving form and we’ll contact them and help them set
it up.
