May 3 - {also} for all of us Awards are back this June
To celebrate the major achievements of the GLBTIQ community, {also} presents the second {also} for all of us awards on 28 June 2010. To be held at St Kilda’s beautiful heritage National Theatre, the Awards coincide with the 30th (pearl) Anniversary of the founding of {also} and will be the premier pink carpet event on the GLBTIQ calendar this year. It features an evening of high-calibre performances and entertainment to accompany the award presentations.
This year there has been a special effort to make sure that the Awards are relevant to the entire GLBTIQ community, with new awards honouring the achievements of youth, activism and significant support from our straight allies. With a total of 22 Awards to be presented, this year features two new awards for GLBTIQ health developed by Gay and Lesbian Health Victoria (GLHV), seven panel-chosen and 13 popularly voted awards. Nominations can be made for all categories and will open soon, so watch out for nominations forms online at the {also} website and through queer media associates. Tickets go on sale by the middle of May.

It allows the queer community to tell us who they think are achieving highly, while being a tangible way to thank these exceptional individuals, groups and businesses in a night of celebration and unity.”The performance line-up, programmed to reflect the diverse talent of the queer arts and entertainment sectors, will be announced before the end of May.
