May 12 - {also} announces Media partner

{also} is pleased to announce the appointment of Southern Star as the Official Media Partner of the {also} for all of us Awards. To be held on 28 June at St Kilda’s historic National Theatre, the event will be the premier pink carpet event on this year’s queer calendar. 

In response to the announcement, Publishing Editor Scott Abrahams said he was delighted SSO Media could support the red carpet event. “The 2010 ALSO Awards will be a unique opportunity to celebrate the tireless work of people and organisations for equality, and to honour those helping promote our colourful and diverse community,” he said. “SSO Media is proud to support the ALSO Awards and help commemorate the ALSO Foundation’s great achievements fighting for equality over the last 30 years.”

Incoming CEO of {also} Crusader Hillis said the ALSO Foundation was also pleased to work with SSO Media as it celebrates its 30-year milestone. “The ALSO Foundation is thrilled to welcome Southern Star as the media partner for {also} for all of us awards”, he said. “With Southern Star also being the media partner of the 30-year anniversary of ALSO’s founding, we are looking forward to forging a strong relationship over coming months.”

A full night of entertainment is planned for the awards. Nominations in all 22 categories opened on Wednesday, 12 May and will close at midnight 30th May. Those nominated will be shortlisted by a popular vote, with all nominees for panel-chosen awards considered by a panel of community leaders. Voting then opens on 4 June.
