Fetish Expo

The {also} ‘Take Care Out There’ sexual health project is proud to announce that it will be supporting this year's Fetish Expo to be held at the Fitzroy Town Hall from 12pm, Sunday 18 October.

Back to the Bathhouse

Take care {out} there presents the exuberant Mzzz Erin Tasmania in Back to the Bathhouse - an extraordinary homage to the divine Bette Midler and her revolutionary gay sauna performances in New York during 1971.

Val's Metro Opening

June 30th 2009 - Val’s Café will involve establishing a regular support group for aged care service providers who are promoting the rights of older GLBTI people receiving aged care services. The Café recognizes that many aged care service providers are promoting change in isolation and without support.

Run Melbourne - Team {also}

28th June 2009 - {also} is hitting the road and taking part in Run Melbourne on the 28th June 2009. Team {also} is aiming to raise $10,000 for Community Safety and we need your help. Do you think we can last the 5km(we are walking)? Support us by making a donation or if you are feeling fit, join us and help us fundraise through your network of friends!

Rural Forum

On June 25th and 26th 2009, as part of our commitment to country folks, we'll be hosting a rural forum designed to bring together members of our community outside the city. Workers and researchers working in the sector will present key information in identified areas of concern for the GLBTIQ community living in country Victoria.

20th June - To support IDAHO {International Day Against Homophobia}campaign 2009, {also} and ABODE are offering people and opportunity to have their picture taken with a message of support for the campaign to be uploaded to the stophomophobiatoday.com website at the 1st Birthday of The House of IQ.

Bar 362 raises funds for {also}

June 12th 2009 - Viva Variety presented by The Sparklettes is all community on the 12th June. The Sparklettes and friends will be asking patrons to dig deep and donate to {also} with all monies raised going towards community safety.

IDAHO{International Day Against Homophobia}

May 17th 2009 - The Anti Violence Project of Victoria is partnering with key Victorian organisations including Victoria Police, The ALSO Foundation, City of Melbourne, the Victorian Gay & Lesbian Rights Lobby, Gay & Lesbian Health Victoria, JOY 94.9 and the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission to make a positive statement about homophobia through a state-wide campaign.

IDAHO @ Bourke St Mall

Bingo Supports IDAHO

May 16th 2009 - Gay and Lesbian Switchboard are promising a night of fun and frivolity at their Bingo night. {also} will be there and will be inviting folks to have their photo taken with a message of support for IDAHO{International Day Against Homophobia}. These pics will be added to the huge support already shown for this campaign that can be seen at stophomophobiatoday.com.

{also) Youth Action Plan Launch

February 20th 2009 - The {also} Youth Action Plan (YAP) 2009-2011 for same sex attracted, transgender, intersex and queer (SSATIQ) youth was launched On February 20, 2009 at 45 Downstairs in Flinders lane.

{also} launches new visual identity

June 26th 2008 - We launched a new visual identity at a function held on the 10th floor at 225 Bourke st where the new {also} offices were shown to many members of the community. {also} members and community celebrated the move to City Village and the 'new look' {also} was revealed for the first time.
