Overview

Established in 1980 {also} works to enhance the lives of Victoria's diverse gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer communities.

Our Vision

The {also} vision is the creation and celebration of a diverse, strong, safe and inclusive gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (GLBTIQ) community that contributes to and is respected by broader communities.

Our Objectives

We aim to realise this vision and improve the lives of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer people.

ADVOCATING to secure equitable access to rights, entitlements and services

LEADING through building relationships and partnerships within and beyond our community

INVESTING in growing and developing individuals and groups within our diverse community

HOW ARE WE DOING?

{also} is committed to transparency and accountability in everything we do. Our Strategic Directions 2007- 2010 commits us to a range of activities and identifies the measure by which we will monitor progress.

In addition we provide regular financial information that assists our stakeholders in understanding the source and use of {also} funds.

We value your feedback, new ideas and initiatives and encourage you to let us know what you think. This feedback along with other input is vital to shaping our future activities and directions.

Structure

{also}comprises of two individual organisations working together to achieve results. The ALSO Foundation is a not for profit company, limited by guarantee, which conducts the direct services and programs of {also}. The ALSO Care & Benevolent Society Inc is a registered charity that works to fulfill the philanthropic goals and functions of the organisations.

Both entities of {also} are managed through a voluntary Board of Management, comprising of up to 12 persons elected from the membership.
